Crawl Space Repair Before & After Photos

At each annual service our service techs run through a thorough check through and cleaning of the pump system. The relative humidity is also checked and in this case was found to be high at 91% causing visible mold, wood rot and mildew. The solution to this humidity was to install a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier, which removes moisture from the air and drains it directly into the existing pump system.

These homeowners in Kingston Springs Tennessee were struggling with a lot of moisture in their crawl space and were looking for a lasting solution.  Concerned they contacted Frontier Basement Systems for a solution and a design specialist was sent to their home to address their concerns.  Together with the homeowner it was decided that a full encapsulation of their crawl space was the right solution for their home.  Their crawl space was encapsulated with CleanSpace which is a 20mil thick vapor barrier designed to keep water and moisture out of a crawl space.  The results?  Happy homeowners with a dry crawl space.

This Ashland City family was using their crawl space for storage but knew the conditions of the space were not great and wanted to know if a healthy crawl space was possible.

This customer in Ashland City, TN called Frontier for moisture issues in their crawl space. The moisture issues had started to cause the insulation to drip and fall and mold had started to grow. To mitigate the issues, we came in and removed all the wet insulation from between the floor joists as well as all other debris. We then treated the wood floor joists for mold and began working on waterproofing this crawl space. We added drainage matting to the floors and then covered all the vents and any air leaks with SilverGlo panels and spray foam insulation. After that, we covered the entire area with a CleanSpace vapor barrier and installed a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier to capture any remaining moisture from the air. They now have a clean, dry, healthy crawl space. 

While this family has no need to access their crawlspace, they were experiencing soft spots in the floor and had previously repaired the sub-floor. Knowing that there was leaks and a damp, musty odor upstairs, the culprit was high moisture content within the area and affecting the wooden structure of the floor which needed immediate attention!

The CleanSpace liner used for crawl space encapsulation is a very tough, 20 mil vapor barrier, with both a mold inhibitor woven in and polyester cord reinforcement. The result is a space where water will not be able to penetratre in any way, lowering the relative humidity and protecting the structural integrity of the home.
