This family had a lot of problems with mold and wood rot in their crawl space. After heavy rains, there would be small puddles of water and that excessive moisture is what caused the growth. Their relative humidity level and wood content moisture (which our crew will always test) were above the recommended percentages, which means their home was the perfect breeding ground for mold and decay.
