This Tennessee home had a big problem with moisture in its crawl space. For starters, their "sealed" dirt ground was more of a facade than anything! When the ground is not encapsulated properly, the moisture from the soil evaporates into the home. They also had an open-air vent that was letting in outside air. In the summer, the warmer air meets the cooler crawl space air and creates a higher relative humidity in the space. In the winter, it lets in all of the cold winter drafts that make your floors cold!
The excessive moisture was causing the pink insulation to mold and fall out. It is never good when your moist insulation is touching an organic beam that can easily rot and mold! This can cause major foundation issues in the future.
The homeowners decided it was time to call experts to help them with their space!
They called us, Frontier Basement Systems, and scheduled a free inspection with one of our trained inspectors. Our inspector then came to their home, checked out their crawl space, taking reference photos, and also a few moisture tests. He then sat down with the homeowners and shared with them what he found and how our products could help them.
After our inspector answered all of their questions until they were absolutely confident, the decided on installing these products:
TripleSafe Sump Pump
IceGuard
LawnScape Outlet
CleanSpace
Drainage Matting
The homeowners now have a healthy crawl space that they no longer need to worry about!

Most crawl space doors are made from metal or wood that rot, rust, and fall apart over time. Our crawl space entry doors are made from a non-organic plastic that will not rust, rot, or deteriorate, bringing the best protection to your home from humidity, moisture, and unwanted pests from entering your home!
The entry to this crawl space is much cleaner and inviting. Sealed with a non-organic material it will not mold or mildew and protect from water or drafts.
This crawl space had a lot of humidity in it and it was causing the installation to get so heavy is was beginning to fall. When you have a hot and humid area it is easy for mold to grow and in this case, it was growing. The homeowners were concerned and reached out to Frontier for a solution. CleanSpace was installed to encapsulate their crawl space and to keep moisture out. The old installation was removed to prevent future mold.
After a crawl space is encapsulated and everything is moisture and bug free the final step is making a customized door designed especially for that crawl space. This is to ensure that all the work done to the inside cannot be ruined by the outside elements. The crawl space door is sealed from the inside and fits perfectly. Plus, it looks much better than the door this home had before!
