Broken Sump Pump
The sump pump was not effectively removing water from the crawl space. Additionally, the lack of encapsulation and the open vents create a continuously humid environment perfect for mold growth.
Standing Water
Due to the failed sump pump, standing water had accumulated at the edges of the crawl space.
Mold Growth
The mold on the floorboards has compromised the strength of the floor and must be replaced.
Effects of Sinking Floors
The lack of support underneath the home has caused cracks to form near doors and windows.
Drainage System Installation
Standing water in the crawl space was addressed with a drainage system. The orange mesh over the pipe allows water to enter the system while preventing dirt from entering and clogging the system.
New Subfloor
After the compromised subfloor is removed, Frontier replaces it with new subflooring to restore support and stability. Once the structural repairs are complete, the homeowner can move forward with replacing the finished flooring above.
Disposing of the Compromised Subfloor
The Frontier crew removed the moldy subfloor that no longer supported the floor.
Drainage Matting
Once the drainage system is installed, drainage matting is installed underneath the liner. This matting allows water to flow laterally towards the drainage system.
Full Encapsulation with Sump Pump and Dehumidifier
The drainage system directs water towards the sump pump for removal. The SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier is installed to remove any remaining humidity from the crawl space.
SmartJack Support
SmartJacks were installed to support sinking areas of the floor. The lift in the floor closed cracks present in the home above.
