Stair Stepping Cracks
Stair-stepping cracks in the exterior brick of the home are an indicator that the foundation has settled.
Assessing Foundation Settlement
A laser level and measuring tape are used to determine if one side of the house has settled.
Excavation to Footing
The Frontier uses an excavator along with other digging tools to expose the footing of the home.
Directing the Piers
A Frontier crew member guides the hydraulic drive head to the pier and locks it into place.
Driving the Pier
The hydraulic drive head drives the pier into the ground until a hard, stable soil is reached.
Adding Pier Sections
The piers are installed in sections. If the installed piers have not hit solid ground, another pier is added until stable soil is reached.
Proper Shaft Height
Once the proper depth has been reached, the crew cuts the shaft so the clamp plate is at the correct height.
Attaching the Foundation Bracket
A steel underpinning bracket and clamp plate are attached to the piers and tucked under the footing.
Hydraulic Jacks
Hydraulic jacks are used to push up on the bracket and restabilize the home.
PolyLevel Foam
After foundation lifting, PolyLevel foam is injected to fill the void where the footing had settled.
