This customer called Frontier to fix the moisture issues in their crawl space. For this project, we removed all the old insulation and vapor barrier. Then we installed drainage matting, added SilverGlow panels to the walls, and installed CleanSpace. We also sprayed RimTight insulation around the perimeter, and set up a SaniDry dehumidifier.

Crawl Space During Inspection

Insulation can be seen falling between the floor joists. When there is too much moisture in the crawl space, it is absorbed by the insulation, causing it to drip down and fall.

Crawl Space Damage

Moisture, mold and falling, failing insulation are problems in this crawl space, which hasn't been properly sealed. The encapsulation treatment totally separates and protects the crawl space interior from outdoor conditions, keeping the space clean and dry.

High Moisture Levels

The humidity levels are too high in this crawl space. It is the perfect storm for mold growth and wood rot if not addressed soon.

Water Damage

Water lines can be seen on the bottom of the concrete walls and pooling on the old vapor barrier.

Drainage Matting Installed

This dimpled plastic sheet material promotes good drainage over the entire crawl space floor.

Insulate crawl space walls with rigid foam: We install high-performance SilverGlo™ rigid foam insulation against the crawl space walls. SilverGlo™ does what fiberglass can't: stop air leaks, never lose R-value, and never absorb or be damaged by moisture.

Air seal and insulate the rim joist

A tremendous amount of heat is lost through the rim joist that rests on your crawl space foundation. We prevent frigid air from leaking in by sealing gaps around the perimeter of your foundation. Then we reduce conductive heat loss by insulating the rim joist with foam insulation.

The SaniDry Sedona

The Sedona easily fits in small crawl spaces, yet has a powerful blower to effectively dry large crawl spaces. Mold and mildew are common in crawl spaces, but the Sedona keeps the relative humidity below 55%, so mold won't stand a chance. As a high-efficiency dehumidifier, the Sedona removes more moisture (100 pints per day) for less electricity cost than conventional models.
