This customer in Nashville, TN, called Frontier due to moisture issues in his crawl space. To mitigate the issue, we completed a crawl space encapsulation. This included installing our StarPipe crawl space drainage system, drainage matting, CleanSpace liner, TripleSafe sump pump, and SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. We also used Rimtight Insulation spray to add extra insulation between the floor joists. We finished this project with an IceGuard and LawnScape drainage system.

Moisture Reading

Moisture and humidity readings are taken in the crawl space. These will be compared to the levels outside and inside the home as well to get an accurate reading of levels.

StarPipe™ Installation

StarPipe™ is designed to be an easily installed conduit to accept water from the soil and surface of perimeter walls of your crawlspace and drain to a sump system, allowing the water to quickly evacuate from the crawlspace or from under the crawl space floor.

Assembling the Sump Pump

Once the trench is dug, a separate hole is dug out to place the sump pump container. Once the container is placed, the mechanical parts are assembled inside the container.

Installing SmartJacks

This dimpled plastic sheet material promotes good drainage over the entire crawl space floor.

TripleSafe Sump Pump Fully Installed

Our most reliable sump pump system, the TripleSafe™ Sump Pump System, provides three levels of protection for your crawl space and your peace of mind. For normal functioning, the TripleSafe™ has a powerful, cast-iron Zoeller® ⅓ horsepower sump pump set at the lowest level. For heavy volumes of water or in case of primary pump failure, a second, more powerful Zoeller® ½ hp pump set a bit higher in the liner will take over.

Rimtight Insulation

Rimtight insulation is sprayed between the floor joists for an added layer of insulation and protection.

CleanSpace Liner

One key ingredient in our encapsulation system is the CleanSpace® vapor barrier, a super-durable 20-mil plastic sheet designed to permanently prevent moisture, outside air, and pests from entering your crawl space.

IceGuard and LawnScape System

Water escapes from the IceGuard® fitting only when the discharge line becomes clogged. Otherwise, water flows past the slotted openings into the drain pipe. LawnScape™ is a pipe buried from the downspout to a special LawnScape™ outlet that lets the water out onto the surface while camouflaging the end of the pipe. The lid comes off for easy cleaning. LawnScape™ is best used for downspout extensions over 8' long.

Project Complete

After the IceGuard and LawnScape systems are installed, the lines are buried flush with the ground, making mowing and lawnscaping easy. After some cleanup, this waterproofing project is now complete, and the customer has a clean and dry crawl space.
