Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: Crawl Space Encapsulation in Scottsville, KY

After treating mold in a customer's Scottsville, KY, home, Frontier returned to complete a crawl space encapsulation to prevent the mold from returning. This project included installing our StarPipe crawl space drainage system, drainage matting, CleanSpace liner, as well as a TripleSafe sump pump and SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. We finished the project with an IceGuard and LawnScape drainage system and a new crawl space door.

StarPipe Crawl Space Drainage System

StarPipe™ is a custom-engineered drainage system for crawl spaces. StarPipe's™ custom design has slots on each side, providing a drainage track on the bottom. StarPipe's™ unique star shape holds the fabric sleeve in place to prevent dirt from entering drainage slots.

How StarPipe Works

StarPipe™ is designed to be an easily installed conduit to accept water from the soil and surface of perimeter walls of your crawl space and drain to a sump system, allowing the water to quickly evacuate from the crawl space.

Drainage Matting Installation

Drainage matting forms a permanent seal for leaking crawl space floors.

CleanSpace Installed

One key ingredient in our encapsulation system is the CleanSpace® vapor barrier, a super-durable 20-mil plastic sheet designed to permanently prevent moisture, outside air, and pests from entering your crawl space.

The SaniDry Sedona

As a high-efficiency dehumidifier, the Sedona removes more moisture (100 pints per day) for less electricity cost than conventional models.

TripleSafe Sump Pump

A TripleSafe® Sump Pump System (shown here), combined with a SaniDry® dehumidifier, represents the ultimate in crawl space waterproofing and humidity control.

New framing is built out to ensure a secure fit for the new crawl space door.

New Crawl Space Door

Our EverLast™ Crawl Space Doors are created with ½" thick solid plastic, and they will never rust, rot, or need paint. Sturdy knobs allow for easy access and ensure a tight seal for many years to come.

IceGuard and LawnScape System Installation

Water escapes from the IceGuard® fitting only when the discharge line becomes clogged. Otherwise, water flows past the slotted openings into the drain pipe. LawnScape™ is a pipe buried from the downspout to a special LawnScape™ outlet that lets the water out onto the surface while camouflaging the end of the pipe. The lid comes off for easy cleaning. LawnScape™ is best used for downspout extensions over 8' long.
