Crawl Space Repair Photo Album: SmartJack Installation in Gurley, AL

This customer in Gurley, AL, called Frontier due to unlevel floors. When we arrived, there were multiple load-bearing columns and concrete floor support jacks that were loose and no longer supporting anything above. They were clustered around the front right-hand corner of the home. Most being underneath the existing I-beams that the home sits on. In order to properly support the area, we installed 6 load-bearing jacks and spaced them evenly under the existing I-beams to support the affected area. Then we placed the other 8 SmartJacks with beams running in the middle of the existing I-beams to support and further stabilize the home’s joists. After everything was installed and lifted, we shimmed the ineffective columns.

Measurements Taken

During the inspection measurements are taken to see exactly how and where the floor is sloping. This helps us determine where to place the PowerBrace system.
