Moisture in the Crawl Space
"Humidity in the crawl space was absorbed by the insulation, causing it to become heavy and fall. This not only reduces its effectiveness but can also make the crawl space harder and less safe to navigate.
Mold Growth
A relative humidity of 81% was creating an environment where mold could thrive on organic materials such as floor joists and boards.
Water Intrusion and Soda Blasting
This image shows water intrusion in the crawl space, with the darker foundation blocks indicating areas where moisture has been present from standing water or seepage through the wall. This photo was taken during the soda blasting process, which removes mold from the floor joists and helps restore the wood.
Drainage System Installation
Frontier's StarPipe drainage system was installed on the wall of the crawl space where water intrusion was evident.
Drainage Matting Installation
Drainage matting is installed on the floor of the crawl space. The divots in the material allow moisture to flow laterally towards the drainage system.
TripleSafe Sump Pump with Battery Backup
The TripleSafe Sump Pump is installed at the lowest point in the crawl space to collect water from the drainage system. The battery backup ensures the pump continues running in the event of a power outage.
RimTite Joist Insulation Spray Foam
RimTite Joist Insulation was installed along the perimeter of the crawl space to block off airflow created by the cantilever along the chimney and bay windows.
EverLast Door
The EverLast Door creates a true seal at the entrance, preventing air intrusion through the entrance.
SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier
To address any residual humidity in the crawl space, the SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier is installed and automatically drains into the TripleSafe sump pump.
IceGuard
The TripleSafe sump pump sends water out of the crawl space through the IceGuard. This ensures water can still discharge even if the line becomes clogged or frozen before reaching the LawnScape Outlet.
