Old Crawl Space Door
The existing crawl space door was not properly sealing the space, allowing humid air to seep in and contribute to moisture issues.
Efflorescence on Crawl Space Walls
Efflorescence is a sign of moisture intrusion in a crawl space. Efflorescence is the white, chalky substance left behind when water passes through concrete and evaporates.
Mold on Floor Joists
Mold was growing on the floor joists, softening the wood over time.
Relative Humidity
The RH in the crawl space was over the 60% threshold where mold is activated.
Soda Blasting
Soda blasting reaches into the pores of the wood to remove mold at the surface. After the process is complete, the air is scrubbed and filtered to help remove airborne mold spores from the space.
Drainage Matting
An encapsulation begins with drainage matting, which allows water to move laterally beneath the liner and helps protect the liner from damage during crawl space maintenance.
CleanSpace Liner
CleanSpace liner is used to encapsulate and seal the crawl space. The walls and piers are sealed first, then the floor liner is installed and connected to create a continuous barrier. This helps prevent openings where moisture can enter.
SmartJacks
SmartJacks were installed to reinforce the floor and prevent joists from bouncing.
SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier
The SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed to control humidity in this crawl space. It will keep the air dry and prevent future mold growth.
EverLast Door
The old crawl space door was replaced with an EverLast door to help prevent outside air from entering the controlled space.
