Relative Humidity
The RH in the crawl space was 81%. Anything over 60% is a prime environment for critters to thrive and mold to grow.
Falling Insulation
When insulation becomes damp, it can absorb moisture, causing it to become heavy and fall out of place. It can also make the crawl space more difficult and unpleasant to safely access for maintenance.
Rat Snake
This rat snake was likely drawn to the crawl space because humidity allows insects to thrive, which can attract rodents, and in turn, snakes. The snake was safely removed, and sealing the crawl space will help keep pests like this out in the future.
Drainage System
A drainage system was installed along the wall to capture and redirect moisture where intrusion was present.
SilverGlo Panels
SilverGlo Panels were installed to keep the space conditioned and prevent air leakage through the walls.
Drainage Matting
Drainage matting is installed beneath the CleanSpace liner to allow groundwater to move laterally. This directs water toward the sump pump instead of allowing it to become trapped beneath the liner.
CleanSpace Liner
CleanSpace liner is a 20-mil-thick vapor barrier designed to durably seal the crawl space. It helps prevent ground moisture from entering the space and is built to resist rips and tears during routine maintenance.
TripleSafe Sump Pump
The drainage system connects to the TripleSafe sump pump and removes water from the crawl space. The TripleSafe connects to a power outlet and has a battery backup in case of a power outage.
IceGuard Drainage
The sump pump discharge line passes through an IceGuard, which allows water to escape if the main discharge line becomes blocked. The line then terminates at a LawnScape outlet at least 8 feet from the home.
SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier
This SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was installed to keep the space dry. By reducing humidity, it helps prevent mold growth and discourages pests from thriving in the crawl space.
