Efflorescence and Pooling Water
The white, chalky substance on the foundation wall is efflorescence. These are minerals left behind when water moves through the concrete and evaporates in the crawl space. The mud on the liner is evidence that water had pooled in the space at some point and then evaporated, leaving the soil behind.
Soda Blasting Treatment
Soda blasting removed mold from the surface and crevices of the wood in the crawl space. Baking soda used in soda blasting raises the pH of the wood, inhibiting mold growth.
Drainage System
When water is pooling in a crawl space, a drainage system is often recommended. It collects the water and directs it to a sump pump, which then removes it from the home.
Drainage Matting Installation
Drainage matting is installed beneath CleanSpace liner to prevent water from pooling.
SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier
The SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier will keep the crawl space dry year-round, preventing mold growth.
TripleSafe Sump Pump
The TripleSafe sump pump will collect any water from the drainage system and discharge it away from the home.
CleanSpace Liner and RimTite
The CleanSpace liner seals the crawl space floor to prevent ground moisture from evaporating and raising humidity levels. RimTite insulation and SilverGlo panels are used to seal gaps and cracks in the foundation walls, including areas where HVAC ducts pass through.
IceGuard and LawnScape Outlet
The sump pump is connected to an IceGuard and a LawnScape outlet, which discharge the water safely away from the home. The discharge line is typically extended about 8 feet downhill so the water flows away from the foundation instead of back toward it.
