Existing Crawl Space Door
This crawl space door was not sealed properly. Humid air was able to leak through and add moisture to the crawl space.
Before Encapsulation
The unsealed vapor barrier allowed moisture to enter the crawl space from the ground. This moisture reaches the insulation, rendering it ineffective.
Drainage System
A drainage system was installed along the perimeter of the crawl space. Water will be collected and flow to the sump pump.
Installing the Sump Pump
Frontier crews dig two feet into the ground to install the sump pump. The water from the drainage system is directed directly into the liner.
Insulation Removal
The Frontier crew began the project by removing the moist insulation.
SilverGlo™ Panels
SilverGlo™ is a rigid foam insulation that helps keep crawl spaces warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. Unlike fiberglass, it doesn't absorb moisture or sag, so it continues to insulate effectively even in damp conditions.
SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier
The SaniDry Sedona will keep this crawl space dry, preventing mold growth.
TripleSafe Sump Pump
This TripleSafe Sump pump will pump any water from the ground or drainage system out of the home. This homeowner included a generator, ensuring the pump runs in the event of a power outage.
IceGuard and LawnScape Outlet
Water from the sump pump exits the home through an IceGuard® discharge line, which helps prevent backups if the exterior pipe freezes. The LawnScape™ outlet is positioned away from the foundation so water is directed safely away from the crawl space.
