This customer in Clarksville, TN, called Frontier for their basement waterproofing needs. For this project, we installed our WaterGuard sub-floor drainage system and a Trench drain around the doors. We also installed a TripleSafe sump pump to pump water through the drainage lines. We completed the project by installing IceGuard to prevent floods from clogged or frozen discharge lines, as well as a LawnScape system.

Basement During Inspection

Moisture issues are visible in the basement during the inspection. Water is seeping through the block walls, causing a buildup of mildew.

Cracks in Foundation Walls

Cracks are seen on the basement foundation walls due to moisture issues. Without intervention, this wall will continue to crack, start to bow, and eventually fail.

Excavation Process

Excavating a trench along the perimeter of the basement to prepare for the WaterGuard system.

Trench Dug

The trench is dug, and weep holes are drilled into the concrete block wall to allow water to seep out.

Sump Pump Placement

An area is also dug out for the sump pump after the trench is excavated around the perimeter.

WaterGuard Installation Process

Unlike old-fashioned drain tile systems installed on the outside of the home, WaterGuard® is installed just underneath the perimeter edge of the basement floor. Able to waterproof concrete block foundation walls -- Weep holes are drilled at the bottom of the blocks to drain the hollow cavities.

Trench Drain Install

Trench drains are installed in high-traffic areas like the garage door openings and other doorways.

IceGuard® Discharge Line Protection

Many sump pump discharge lines are susceptible to freezing during the cold winter months. Our IceGuard® discharge line protection prevents this from happening, with no need for the homeowner to do anything! This specifically designed grated adapter is located outside where the discharge line exits the house. If the pipe underground freezes in the winter, water can still be pumped out without the worry of backups into your basement!

LawnScape System

LawnScape™ is a pipe buried from the downspout to a special LawnScape™ outlet that lets the water out onto the surface while camouflaging the end of the pipe. The lid comes off for easy cleaning. LawnScape™ is best used for downspout extensions over 8' long.

Basement Waterproofing Complete

After the WaterGuard is installed, a thin layer of cement is added, and now the basement drainage system is completely installed. This customer can now enjoy a clean and dry basement.
