The IceGuard is crucial if your location experiences colder weather, because it allows water to escape when the discharge line is frozen. It is also completely maintenance free!
After rain water is captured in the basement the sump pump pumps it out.. and then what? It goes through the discharge line and disperses through the LawnScape Outlet (not pictured but conveniently green to match grass).
