Not all crawl space support can be treated equally.
This home in Boaz, Kentucky had previous attempts at supporting the floor above. However the material and tactic used were all wrong.
Removing what was found and replacing with better material and a strategy to support the weight of the home offered the best permanent solution.
This concrete sidewalk slab had shifted/sunk quite a lot. As the years went by water infiltrated it more and the shifting got worse and cracks even began appearing. These things tend to happen when concrete is not poured over prepared soil, and even from erosion or flooding. No matter what the cracking and shifting resulted from, these homeowners were ready to have it fixed. It not only caused an eyesore, but it also created a tripping hazard. The homeowner's grandaughter had tripped over the uneven crack and that's when they knew it was time to get it fixed for good!
Products Installed:
PolyLevel- This is done by boring small (penny-sized) holes in the slab and using specially designed equipment to inject a structural-grade polymer into the void. After the void is filled, the expanding properties of the polyurethane foam allows for an accurate lift and leveling of the slab. Finally, the small holes are grouted and sealed, and the slab is completely restored.
NexusPro Sealant- NexusPro is a silicone-based sealant for joints and cracks specially engineered to provide long-lasting flexibility and to stand up to harsh weather conditions. Unlike traditional polyurethane sealants, NexusPro resists UV rays, which means it won't crack, bubble or dry.
These homeowners now have a safe a sealed sidewalk! They love having a peace of mind and are glad they chose to fix the cracks before they got any worse!
