Cotton in Coopertown, TN contacted Frontier after noticing water and structural concerns in the crawl space of their 1950s ranch home. The inspection revealed mold, failing support systems, and fallen insulation throughout the space.
The Frontier crew soda blasted the wood to remove mold and cleared out damaged insulation. Failing supports were replaced with adjustable SmartJacks to properly support the floor system. The space was then encapsulated with drainage matting and CleanSpace liner to protect against future moisture.
We used CleanSpace to help seal this musty crawlspace into a useable and energy-friendly space!
This crawl space had a bad moisture problem. Normally, households have a minimum encapsulation requirement they have to pass. Black tarp does the job of passing the requirement, but when a house has issues like this one.. the black tarp does nothing to help it!
Since it was not sealed correctly, the soil ground under the rocks were exposed. The moisture from the soil evaporated into the home and caused mold issues, as well as foundation issues that the homeowners had already fixed. They knew they still needed to address thier moisture issues before their home's foundation got any worse, so they called us!
Our trained inspector, Robert, came to their home to inspect their crawl space. He then sat down with the homeowners and explained what was going on in their space and what lasting solutions we had to solve their moisture problems! He told them all about our encapsulation process and products that ensured moisture will never be a problem again in their crawl space.
