This crawl space has an excessive moisture problem and all of that moisture is affecting their organic wood beams. The beams had a wood moisture content rate of 18%, which is nearing the rate at which most wood conditions are border-line for decay. This rating is also when surface mold appears, as you can see in the photos, mold spores have formed.
If there is an excessive amount of moisture in your crawl space, pink insulation that wraps around the ceiling of your crawl space constantly touching the wood beams is very bad for the wood, because the insulation acts like a dirty sponge and causes the wood beams to rot at a higher rate.
