This customer in Athens, AL, called Frontier due to moisture and mold issues in their crawl space. To start the project, we cleaned out all the debris and treated the mold with Soda Blasting. To fix the moisture issues, we completed a crawl space encapsulation. This process began with the installation of our drainage matting, a CleanSpace liner, sealing of the crawl space vents, and the installation of our SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier. We finished this project by installing a new crawl space door.

After Mold is Soda Blasted

Why soda blasting? Sodium Bicarbonate is a granular powder that is non-toxic, food grade, with no vapors or offgassing. It is blown with air at high pressure at the infected lumber. The mold is blown off without damaging the lumber, and falls to the floor. The mold is killed by the blasting action and the soda instantly changes the ph, so what falls is not active mold, but simply inert dust.
