Jessica in Nashville, TN, contacted Frontier to schedule an inspection of her crawl space. During the visit, the design specialist found high humidity levels and widespread moisture throughout the space. Insulation had absorbed moisture from the air and begun to fall from the joists, and conditions were favorable for mold growth. Encapsulation was recommended to help reduce humidity levels and keep existing mold dormant. The Frontier crew installed CleanSpace drainage matting and CleanSpace liner across the crawl space floor to help isolate the space from ground moisture. SilverGlo wall panels were installed along the foundation walls to improve energy efficiency and further protect against moisture intrusion. To help seal the crawl space from outside air, an EverLast door was installed at the entrance. A SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier was added to control humidity year-round and maintain a drier environment beneath the home. The crew also extended a downspout that had been directing water toward the foundation, helping to redirect water away from the home.

Crawl Space Door Preparation

Before the EverLast Door was installed, a new frame was built to ensure a proper fit and long-term performance. Extra insulation was also added to help maintain a more stable environment inside the space.

CleanSpace liner is installed along the crawl space floor and walls to separate the area from the earth below and around it, helping bring the crawl space into the home's conditioned envelope.
