Since starting here at Frontier Basement Systems I've seen quite a few push pier projects and what they do to permanently stabilize a home foundations - but how are they actually installed? I went to our shop to find out...
Solution
Seeing and truly appreciating the size and weight of the equipment gives me a deeper understanding of the process that goes into each job. All of our sales team, installation and service crews and production guys are so incredibly knowledgeable and are always only a phone call away!
Round shaft piers should be used to support a home's settling foundation for many reasons, number 1 being that the do not bend like their square shaft counterparts!
This is the hydraulic pump which is used to drive the ram (pictured below) to drive deep into the bedrock or stable soil layer.
Furthermore the ram drives the heavy-duty steel pier sections through a bracket, which then takes on the weight of the home.
This jack is used to make the final adjustments to the bracket before the stabilization and lift of foundations are completed. Then the soil can can be backfilled and the home is permanently stabilized in its new position.
