To side with integrity is to side with truth and honesty. That is the root of our company, because it defines who we are and what we believe in. Working with integrity means doing the right thing, even if we don’t get immediate satisfaction from something that an unethical person might get. Instead, we get a long-term satisfaction from doing what’s right and we are able to be a role model to other companies.
It is one of our 8 values, because it is important that our customers and employees trust us. If our customers can’t trust us to suggest the correct products or install everything correctly, then we have nothing at all. Customers tend to stay away from companies that they don’t believe they can trust. You know the feeling, the “something isn’t right” voice in your head when you are speaking with a dishonest person. You can’t shake the thought out about the person and it stays with you, and you definitely aren’t going to be willing to throw your hard-earned money at them.
The same thing goes with Frontier Basement Systems and our employees. When hiring, we are putting trust in a person to wear our name proud and well. In return, they are trusting Frontier to make choices that are for the betterment of the company and therefore themselves. If we can’t trust them and they can’t trust us, then the relationship is over before it even begins.
We have to move each day with ethical decisions in mind. It’s not always an easy road, but it’s always worthwhile.
P.S. I’d say we are doing a great job, considering we won Better Business Bureau’s Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics… AGAIN!
