The owners of this Tuscumbia, AL home were unhappy with their un-encapsulated crawl space. They had experienced the growth of mold and other allergens in the home's crawl space due to the humid air in the dark, warm, open space. Understanding that in humid conditions mold grows on organic materials, like the paper backing of traditional batt insulation and wooden floor joists, our design specialist recommended a full crawl space encapsulation.
The full encapsulation includes the removal of existing insulation and the installation of CleanSpace drainage matting and vapor barrier, as well as the installation of a SaniDry Sedona dehumidifier system. Once the debris and existing insulation were removed, our installation crew installed CleanSpace drainage matting to allow any ground water from storms to freely flow under the vapor barrier while giving the vapor barrier a stable base.
