Upon receiving a request from a homeowner in Clarksville, TN, regarding escalating musty odors as humidity levels increased in their home, we immediately sprang into action. Implementing a comprehensive approach, we began by installing a robust 20mil thick CleanSpace Liner over drainage matting, effectively reducing moisture and humidity while sealing the space from the ground up. Seamlessly integrating the Triple Safe Sump Pump, IceGuard, and Drainage system, we effectively managed any water intrusion. Furthermore, we ensured continuous moisture control by installing our SaniDry Sedona Dehumidifier, maintaining optimal humidity levels. To finalize the transformation, we installed a new EverLast Door for the crawl space, constructed with air-tight 1/2 inch thick PVC plastic. Our tailored solution not only eradicated the mustiness but also fostered a healthier environment beneath their home.

Clarksville, TN's Preferred Concrete Leveling, Lifting & Repair Professionals!

PolyLevel®® is a less disruptive to surrounding property and a highly cost-efficient alternative to traditional concrete lifting & leveling. The entire concrete lifting process is less destructive and offers numerous benefits over typical slab raising methods. Our Clarksville contractors are exclusively trained professionals with the experience to provide our valued customers with our patented PolyLevel®® concrete lifting solution.

The PolyLevel® Concrete lifting and slab-raising applications are a suitable solution to many variations of sinking and settling concrete, including:

• Concrete driveways and concrete steps
• Interior floor slabs
• Concrete pool decks or pool surrounds
• Sunrooms with concrete floors
• Concrete roadways & parking areas
• Airport runways
• Concrete patios & landings
• Concrete sidewalks

The Best Alternative to Mudjacking and Slab Jacking

Mudjacking, or pressure grouting are solutions that require the demolition and replacement of an entire slab of concrete, a procedure that is time-consuming and expensive, not to mention disruptive to the property. PolyLevel®’s two-part foam expands instantaneously upon injection beneath a settled slab. The injection holes that our contractors drill through the slab are small and much less abrasive than those required for a typical mud jacking procedure. During the injection process, PolyLevel® expands many times its original volume and gains density, forcing the sunken concrete back to its initial level. It takes only a matter of minutes for the polymer to expand and reach more than 90% of its firmness!

For homeowners, general contractors, and commercial property owners, the PolyLevel® system is the most effective solution for repairing unsightly and dangerous sunken concrete surfaces. Contact us today for a free inspection and repair estimate!

Foundation Repair

This customer in Clarksville, TN had a tree fall on their property and cause cracks through the foundation of the home. To fix the situation, we installed Push Piers around the exterior side of the home where the tree had fallen to stabilize the foundation. This will make sure there is no further damage to the foundation or exterior of the home.

When soils are unable to bear the load of the structure on top of it, that structure must sink downwards into the ground. This is true with homes, concrete floors, chimneys, and many other structures.

Piers can solve settlement problems by transferring a structure's weight to strong, competent supporting soils at greater depth. Piers can effectively stabilize a settling structure and can even provide jacking points to lift the structure upwards to its original, level position.

Foundation Settlement Repair

This customer in Clarksville, TN needed crawl space repair to his home. The beams holding the home up were starting to rot and become structurally unsound. Because it's built directly underneath your home, your crawl space plays a key role in your home's structural integrity. Crawl spaces bear this weight through the foundation walls and crawl space support columns.

Floors over crawl space foundations sag due to many reasons, including inadequate or shifting supports beneath floor joists and lumber deterioration due to mold and rot.

As a floor sags, this problem is often associated with other issues, including cracking drywall, skewed door and window openings, and a potentially moldy, musty odor in the house. Our SmartJack® system is designed to straighten and strengthen sagging floors over crawl space foundations. We also have other products that can eliminate crawl space moisture problems like rot and corroded metal surfaces.

The SmartJack™ system provides solid support for sagging and undersized beams, restoring stability and straightness to sagging floor joists in a crawl space. Once installed in your crawl space, SmartJack® supports can correct problems such as sloping and overly springy floors, interior wall cracks, and out-of-level level door frames. Because of its design, the SmartJack™ can be adjusted over time to provide additional straightening and leveling action if necessary. The SmartJack™ is also compatible with a crawl space vapor barrier system, allowing you to address crawl space mold and humidity issues while repairing your structural issue.

Concrete Porch Lifted and Sealed in Clarksville, TN

This Clarksville couple had noticed their concrete porch steps had began sinking. It sunk more and more every year. The homeowners knew this would cause the home's value to go down and it was time to get it fixed before it got any worse. They decided to find a company that could fix it once and for all and for a good price!
They googled concrete repair specialists in their area and found us. They couldn't resist a free inspection, so they scheduled an appointment asap.
After our inspector came to look over the sinking steps and discussed our trusted solutions with the homeowners, our very experienced foreman came to repair the issue.
We used PolyLevel to lift the slab and used NexusPro Joint Sealant to seal the crack so water would not infiltrate the slabs!
PolyLevel is an expanding polyurethane foam that is injected beneath the concrete to fill the gaps caused by soil erosion and raise and stabilize the concrete surface. NexusPro is a silicone-based sealant for joints and cracks specially engineered to provide long-lasting flexibility and to stand up to harsh weather conditions. Unlike traditional polyurethane sealants, NexusPro resists UV rays, which means it won't crack, bubble or dry. It fits into homeowners' busy lifestyles, too - drying time is a fraction of that needed for other urethane-based caulking products.

The homeowners now has a peace of mind and a great looking porch!

Ugly Cracks Sealed with NexusPro in Clarksville, TN

Patricia D. had a lovely driveway that began cracking throughout the slab. She knew her home's value was decreasing and the cracks would only get worse, so she googled concrete specialist experts that could restore her home.
She found us and loved our photo gallery photos and products. Our inspector came to Patricia's home and talked to her more about our concrete repair solutions. The broken slabs on the driveway were slightly unlevel, so they needed to be lifted with our PolyLevel high density, expanding foam. After all of the lifting is finished with, the cherry on top of this job is the seal.

Frontier Foundation & Crawl Space Repair's NexusPro sealant is a permanent solution to cracked seams. It is a silicone-based sealant for joints and cracks specially engineered to provide long-lasting flexibility and to stand up to harsh weather conditions.

Patricia is pleased with the turnout and is so glad she decided to get her problems fixed before the cracking caused more damage.

Colleen H. knew it was only a matter of time before someone got severely hurt from her uneven porch. The cement portion of her porch had sunk almost 2 inches from the surrounding brick causing a very big issue. Colleen had hopes of selling her home soon, so this is a problem that NEEDED to be fixed as soon as possible.
She researched the best concrete repair company in her area and found us, Frontier Foundation & Crawl Space Repair. She had looked through our photo galleries and was very interested in our PolyLevel product.

Our knowledgeable foreman told Colleen all about our concrete repair solutions and she was sold!

Hidden Damage in a Clarksville Basement

The Clarksville family had a beautifully finished basement. Unfortunately, ground water surrounding the home's basement did not care, the water intruded the home anyway.

At first the family noticed a few smells, then on really heavy rains some damp carpet, and over time rot to the walls and baseboards.

Not sure why this was happening they called Frontier for a free inspection.

The home was built into a hill in 1996, backfill soil surrounded 3 sides of the basement walls.

The ground water was now seeping in through the foundation walls and pooling in the basement. Because the basement was finished some of the damage was hidden behind drywall, carpet, or flooring. The landing of the stairs leading down to the basement was the more surprising discovery.

The water seeping through the walls typically runs down the wall and pools in the floor. However, the water in one corner found the landing of the stairs first and was rotting out the wood below the flooring.

The good news was Frontier was able to provide a solution. WaterGuard interior perimeter drainage system would be installed to collect and direct the water to a sump pump that could then push out and away from the home at a safe distance and grade. No need to dig up the exterior of the foundation. Some of the flooring could be saved and placed back in its original space.

The solution even provided a way to continue the system around the wood burning fireplace so water could flow to the sump pump properly and the fireplace was not disturbed.

The family can rest easy now knowing the basement is properly protected on the 3 walls that was their main concern. If they choose to add full perimeter later, they have that option.

This sump pump system can be cleaned and maintained with no disruption to the family or home.

Leaky to Dry Basement in Clarksville, TN

Lawrence's basement would flood after every heavy rain. He's been having this problem since he moved in a decade ago. Then he grew tired of having to clean the mess up, the lack of storage his home had and was growing incredibly worried about mold growth. The water damages thus far have cost him his sheet-rock paneling, storage, and peace of mind. Lawrence had hopes of stay in his home for the long run but needed a permanent solution to his flooding basement problem.
Lawrence called us, Frontier Basement Systems, and booked a free consultation with our inspector, John. John looked around his basement, took photos, and a few humidity tests. He then sat down with Lawrence and discussed what he found and what products we could install to make his basement flooding nightmare a thing of the past.

Our crew ended up installing our trusted WaterGuard System
The WaterGuard® basement waterproofing system from Basement Systems is an innovative interior perimeter drainage channel designed to effectively solve basement water problems. WaterGuard, along with other Basement Systems products, will keep your basement clean and dry so you can use the space for storage, recreational purposes, or to finish for additional living space.

The best part about it is its nearly invisible when installed and its rugged plastic construction will never corrode or decay!

Lawrence now has a dry basement and a safe place to store his personal belongings again without having to fear they'd get ruined.
We love helping homeowners like Lawrence find the best possible solution to their problems!

Unhealthy to Healthy Crawl Space Transformation in Clarksville TN

Mr. and Mrs. Gillon had problems with excessive moisture and high humidity in their crawl space. Their family had a problem with asthma and there was a slight cat urine odor lingering in the space. The source of the odor could potentially be explained by plants decomposing below the house, which gives off an ammonia scent. This scent could be brought into the home by soil that hasn't been encapsulated correctly, or potentially a stray cat could've gotten into the space via a crawl space vent.
This brings us to two points: 1)  Mr. and Mrs. Gillon had their crawl space encapsulated in 2014, but the company used a thin liner and the couple were not pleased with the results, which is a good reminder to go with a trusted company that will explain every step of each process and product with you in detail. 2) They had, like many other homeowners, an open vent. It is used to "air out" the crawl space, so it doesn't get muggy and grow mold, however this open vent lets outside air and humidity into your space, which is causing the opposite of the intended effect.

There are many triggers for asthma, some are preventable and others are not. A preventable trigger we often see is caused by poor indoor air quality. Did you know that 50% of the air we breathe upstairs comes from the air downstairs? When your crawl space has a high humidity level and moisture issues, there is a good chance of its growing mold and mold spores and becoming a quaint home for dust mites. These are the things you don't want your family breathing in and what we expect might be the reason for the Gillon family asthma issues.

The Gillon had heard about Frontier Basement Systems from a friend and thought they might as well give it another go and see if we were able to solve the issues the other company could not.
Our inspector, Rob, came out to their home and took photos of their space. He made sure to tell them about our 20mil thick liner that has 7 layers of polyethylene composition and polyester-cord reinforcement, aka a much more reliable liner to reduce moisture in the space and keep outside humidity out of the space. He also discussed with them the other products that would be useful for their home, such as our TripleSafe Sump Pump, Drainage Matting, SaniDry Sedona, Mold-X2, LawnScape Outlet, an EverLast Door. All of these products would work together to make the Gillon's crawl space not only dry but healthy too!

After learning more about our encapsulation process, they were ready for our crew to install, so we got to work!
They are very happy with the crew's work and are glad to have an encapsulation done by true professionals.

Decaying Wood Beams Causing Sagging Floors in Clarksville, TN

Pedro S. had a moisture filled crawl space. He had complaints of his 1979 home's floors sagging and was worried about the possibility of the floors collapsing. He had looked around for other contractors, but no one would give him a free estimate. This was a serious problem for him, because his main concern was the price of the entire project. He found out that Frontier Basement Systems offers not only free inspections, but free estimates too!  Our Inspector, Robert, came out to look at Pedro's home and found the sagging floors culprit. The wood beams holding up the homeowners floors were rotting away. This was the cause of bouncy floors and the walls drooping and cracking. Robert suggested our SmartJack Crawl Space Stabilizer and Pedro agreed that it was a good idea and was happy with the estimate.

Our crew came in and installed SmartJack stabilizers and steel supporting beams. The SmartJack is an easily adjustable steel pier and is designed to stop settling AND raise your sagging floor. The stabilizer is placed on rocks to help it not settle into the dirt ground. Pedro no longer has to worry about his floors collapsing under his family and himself, because the SmartJack is sturdy and will never mold and crumble away.

They rarely go in to the crawl space because of their health but do not want that environment to affect the rest of their home. Suffering from allergies is not fun, the humidity levels and mold were only making those symptoms worse.

Droppy Floors in Clarksville TN

A Clarksville home built in 2004 had started having trouble with "settling." The family had noticed sticking doors and windows, uneven floors, and cracks in drywall. They had heard this is normal with the soil in the area and the building going on around them but had done enough research to know that movement, sinking, settling, whatever you wanted to call it was not suppose to happen.

Our inspector went out and found the crawl space had a low spot with a history of standing water.

The floor had dropped 1/2" to 3/4" in the center of the home.

The beam in the garage was creating a point load on the foundation wall and making it sink.

The concrete of the front porch had sank.

Mission:

Stabilize Foundation

Stabilize Floors

Lift and stabilize porch slab

Solution:

Push Pier: Steel push pier is installed inside the crawl space directly under where the existing beam lands on the foundation.

PolyLevel: 11.3x11.3x1.75 Area. Required 72 lbs of foam to lift and level.

SmartJacks: SmartJacks are steel support posts dipped in molten zinc to prevent rust and corrosion. The SmartJack has an adjustable thread and nut at the top which can be adjusted at any time in the future. The SmartJack will rest on an engineered footing with a minimum size of 2’ width by 2’ length’ by 2’ deep to spread the load to a manageable weight on the soil.

3 2x12 span of 24'

5' Spacing;  110PSF Floor Load

Allowable Load Provided by Footing Subgrade is 6,000 lbs.

Allowable load on beam was 1510 PLF, Actual Load on Beam for this home 1,320 PLF

CleanSpace: Encapsulation system. The CleanSpace Liner is a very tough 20 mil. vapor barrier with polyester cord reinforcement and a mold inhibitor woven into the liner.  All penetrations through the exterior foundation walls including the foundation vents are sealed using either closed cell spray foam or polyurethane caulking prior to installation of the liner.  All organic debris and sharp objects are removed from the crawlspace floor.  The CleanSpace liner covers the entire floor in the area shown. CleanSpace Wall liner is attached to all walls and up concrete piers in the crawlspace area.  All seams are sealed and the top edge is sealed to the walls.

New Attic Insulation in Clarksville TN

This Clarksville home was built around 1985, as the home owner enclosed the garage they found there were three walls with hardly any insulation. Of course this made the family concerned about what insulation may or may not be present throughout the home.

Removing old soiled insulation will help a great deal with health and allergy concerns. Some of the older materials were found to be harmful to our lungs and of course as the insulation gets older and dirty from moisture or critters we breath that in the air of our home. Air sealing is also a missing component in the attics of older homes. Although there may be batting down air still leaks through all cracks and holes. Conditioned air escapes, energy is wasted, and the family is still not comfortable in the home.

Mission:

To upgrade and air seal the upper attic.

Plan:

Remove and dispose of existing batting insulation in the attic.

Extend the bath fan vent to gable end of attic.

Seal all air leaks. Closing all accessible penetrations and top plates using expanding polyurethane foam.

Insulate with blow in Cellulose insulation to proper R-value. TruSoft blown in cellulose insulation added to the attic.

Black Mold Removal in Clarksville TN

A Clarksville home owner called in because she had black mold in the bathroom of her finished basement. Whenever heavy rains come, water would seep in. They have been in the home over 10 years and plan on staying for a long time. Wanting the whole basement dry all the time, the home owners were motivated for a permanent solution.

The solution for this home was a permanent water management system. WaterGuard water collection and drainage system with inspection ports were installed along the walls where the problem was. The system collects any water that seeps through the foundation block and drains in to a sump pump system.  A TripleSafe Single Sump and an Ultra Sump III were installed to pump water out a discharge line leading to a LawnScape Outlet away from the homes foundation.

Wall restoration was done to the area of wall with black mold present, cutting away the hazardous drywall and replacing with a non-organic wall panel.

A SaniDry Sedona Dehumidification system was installed in the basement to monitor and control the moisture content of the air.

This home is now protected and healthy. The family can breath easy knowing the black mold is gone and no longer harmful.

Moisture Control in Clarksville Crawl Space

This rental home in Clarksville Tennesee was having some major issues with water in the crawl space. Mold and mildew were a concern. Floor joist was rotting causing floors to sag. The front porch had sunk. Old soiled insulation between the joist was doing more harm than good.

A healthy solution was necessary before this home could be rented again. A water management system was better for the next family and the life of the home.

TripleSafe single sump pump installed in the front, right corner of the property, as well as IceGuard and LawnScape outlets. A discharge line that routes the pump the water away from the home will protect the foundation from sinking as well as standing water in the crawl space.
Electric outlet installed to power the sump pump.
Removed all insulation and debris and disposing of it properly.
Replaced a 30' section of the main beam starting at the left side of the house, lend the beam on top of the 2nd pier from the right side of the house.  Sister floor joist was installed to provide support to the floor.

PolyLevel foam injection was injected below the porch to raise and level the surface.

The homeowner has reinvested in the investment property securing the additional income. The future families who reside there will have a secure place to call home.

Damp Crawlspace in Clarksville, TN

This home had a thin plastic liner installed in their crawlspace 10 years ago, unfortunately these liners aren't as durable as a CleanSpace 20 mil thick plastic liner, and water had still continued to enter the space.

Cleanspace is tough - puncture and tear resistant, with an anti-microbial additive to fully ensure that all water vapor is kept away from the foundation structure and mold does not have a place to grow.

Rotten Rim Joists in Clarksville, TN

This Clarksville home had uneven floors, cracks in the dry wall and other issues associated with a sinking foundation. What made getting repairs done a priority was not being able to close the back door, obviously a safety concern as well as heating and cooling the home.

This rotten Rim Joist was removed, supporting the wall temporarily with Shoring. The installation was removed to ensure that any future moisture won't get trapped in the material and cause any damage to the new joist.

Mold and Midew Controlled in Clarksville TN

Most of us don't go into our crawl space very often, only when necessary for some. Cold floors in the winter are one of the symptoms that will be noticed in the living space of the home.  The four years this family has lived in their home they have noticed mold in the crawl space and cold floors in the winter. Allergies can also be affected by an unconditioned crawl space. Because members of the house do have allergies, controlling the mold and mildew is important. Excited for a permanent solution to all of their concerns this family was ready for a healthier home.

Save the Floors in Clarksville TN

This homeowner has lived in the home since it was built in 1980. They noticed they might have a foundation problem years ago but having it checked was not a priority. They first noticed problems in the back bedroom. Since then there have been cracks in the flooring.

The inspection revealed some of the supports under the home had failed; sub floor and joist had rotted out. The findings were concerning for the safety of the family.

The solution was to replace the rotten materials and encapsulate the crawl space so this wouldn't happen again. With the crawl space encapsulated and humidity controlled this homeowner can rest at ease.

Plan of action:

Replace 51 linear feet wood beam

Replace 23 floor joists

Replace two sheets of subfloor under the dining room

Replace one sheet of subfloor under the toilet area

Regrade for Drainage

TripleSafe Complete (inc 2 pumps and UltraSump)
Delta Drainage Matting

Cleanspace Liner 20 Mil

Permanently stabilizing sagging floors in Clarksville TN

Clarksville homeowner called in because of bouncy floors in the living room. It was important to them to lift and level the sagging floors so they could lay hardwood flooring. The floor installers will not lay hardwood floor until they have it repaired.  After talking with the homeowner and an inspection the solution was to add a 10' steel beam through the center of the span in the living room with 2 smart jacks.  Height from dirt to floor joist in the back is 33" and 30" toward the front of the house. The homeowner was beyond pleased with the work. Said she loved everything and the people.

CleanSpace in Clarksville, TN!

This homeowner was concerned about his home lot sitting a bit lower than all the other lots in his neighborhood. A good heavy rain would bring streams of water pouring on to his property so he was concerned about water collecting in the crawl space causing foundation piers to sink, rot, and fall apart.

We first started by taking the black liner that was not protecting his home out of the crawl space. We installed a number of products that helps with moisture control such as our SaniDry, CleanSpace Liner 20 Mil, Delta Drainage Matting, Small Everlast Door, IceGuard, LawnScape Outlet, and the TripleSafe Complete with 2 pumps for that extra coverage.

With the crawl space completely encapsulated, moisture and water is no longer a worry for this homeowner. We gave him the best permanent solution using our WOW customer service!

This homeowner's crawl space had a cheap, thin liner that did not protect this home. The homeowner had suffered from allergies and asthma. He knew that it was a result of his damp, moldy crawl space. That's when he had called Frontier to get his free inspection, and sure enough, there was mold starting to eat away at the foundation. Mold releases mold spores into the air that can cause asthma and allergies to develop.

Thanks to our CleanSpace Encapsulation System, not only is this crawl space clean and dry, but it now brings cleaner air into the house.
